Terminal Ballistics

This is a 1 day course designed to develop in the students an understanding of terminal ballistics and the physiological factors necessary for high stress shooting. Critical decision making and survival are the cornerstones to all the practical exercises included in this course.

This course is perfect for the Armed Professional or Law Enforcement officer who wants to increase their understanding of how ballistics of various weapons and calibers affect the human body. Lethal encounter cases studies are discussed and some graphic images may be presented during our lectures.

Topics included in this course include: Lethal force considerations. Direct Trauma vs. Oxygen Deprivation, Compensatory Mechanism, Psychology of Surrender, Firearm Wound Proficiency, Ballistic Misconceptions, “Ideal Bullet”, Central Nervous System, and the Weapon Effectiveness Continuum.

The course will include both classroom presentations and live fire range exercises. This course will conclude with a Course Review and Examination.

All instruction materials, range time, and targets are provided by Tactical Services Group. The student is required to provide a handgun, two magazines or speed loaders with holders, eye and ear protection, a billed baseball type cap, 350 rounds of ammunition, and a dominant side holster.
